Neck & Shoulder Tension · Mornington
That band across the top of your shoulders that's there most days by mid-afternoon. Rubbing it helps for an hour. Forty minutes to find out why it's back again tomorrow.
$97 from this page · normally $160 · pay on the day

Necks and shoulders are the most common thing Dale sees — and the most commonly treated with something that feels excellent and changes nothing by Wednesday.
No. A massage treats the tightness. Myotherapy asks why your neck has tightened up every single day for the last two years.
A neck that goes tight daily is doing it for a reason. Where your head sits over your shoulders, what your mid-back is or isn't doing, and how you spend the eight hours before it tightens — that's what the assessment is for. The reason the relief only lasts an hour is that nothing about the eight hours changed.
"A massage helps for a day and then it's exactly the same."
What patients tell DaleThis is not a warm-up appointment where you come back next week for the actual treatment. All four of these happen on the first visit.
What you do, what set it off, what you've already tried, and what it's stopping you doing.
Neck range, what the mid-back and shoulder blades are doing, and where the load is actually landing. Testing, not guessing.
You get told what's actually going on, in plain words, before anything else happens.
Hands-on work starts in the same appointment, plus the two or three things to change between now and next time.
Twenty-five years of hands on people who'd been told it was just stress. Dale's caseload is chronic and complex — the necks and shoulders that have already been through a few other pairs of hands.
He's the only myotherapist here, so the person who assesses you is the person who treats you, every visit.

How many massages have you had that felt superb and changed nothing? The point of the assessment is to stop paying for the same hour over and over.
Tell Dale at the start, and expect to be pointed next door. Pain, pins and needles or weakness are nerve signs, and the spine and nervous system are a chiropractor's field rather than a myotherapist's — sciatica and radicular pain especially. Mornington Peninsula Chiropractic is in this building, so an assessment is a walk down the corridor, not another search.
No. Book directly.
Some of the hands-on work on a long-standing neck is firm, and Dale will tell you before he does it. Nothing happens without you knowing what and why.
Possibly, but posture is usually the symptom rather than the cause. What matters is what fatigues, in what order, and how long you hold one shape before it does.
Often, yes. Headache driven by the neck is common and commonly missed. If that's part of your picture, say so at the start — it changes what gets examined.
Myotherapy is claimable with most funds that include it in extras cover. Check your level of cover — rebates vary.
